Ah! Spring at last. Let’s celebrate by watching those birds return.
In a new Notebook file, brainstorm to make a list of the birds that commonly are found in your area. Divide these into two groups. One group is present all year and another is migratory.
On a new page make a chart of the migratory birds using the table tool. Have the students begin to watch for the birds. When one is spotted, the person who sees it can record their name and the siting date in the chart.
